Orvis Builders Supports Watatunga

At Orvis Builders, we know how vital it is to support the environment around us and help educate the next generation about its importance. We teamed up with Watatunga Wildlife Reserve to contribute to their BioBase, a space designed to inspire visiting students through hands-on wildlife activities.

We wanted to help them make conservation seem fun, so we built three pond dipping stations for the area. Students will use these to identify Insects and Invertebrates, then link the data they’ve collected to broader conservation concepts.

Watatunga is an award-winning 170-acre wildlife reserve dedicated to the conservation of deer, antelope and birds. Visitors have the one of a kind opportunity to explore the reserve via expert led safari tours in their own electric self-drive buggies. Whilst the reserve has a variety of endangered species such as Pere David’s Deer, Visayan Spotted Deer, Eastern Mountain Bongo and Javan Peafowl they also support native biodiversity by working with groups such as the BTO, BIAZA and Great Bustard Group.

The pond dipping stations we have built for the BioBase will aid in their efforts to continue educating students on the natural world. This was an amazing project to work on with a brilliant business that is creating real change.
